A common approach is to accumulate during sustained Extreme Fear and take profits during Extreme Greed — "be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful." It works best combined with on-chain indicators.
Extreme Fear (0–24) means investors are very pessimistic. Historically, prolonged Extreme Fear has marked zones of opportunity for long-term accumulators rather than panic selling.
